Meet Barbara!

If you’ve ever stepped into Hairfolk and immediately felt at home, there’s a good chance you’ve felt the influence of Barbara. She’s been part of the Hairfolk family since day one—nearly eight years of creating calm, connection, and community, all with a megawatt smile and a color-coded calendar in hand.

After a long career as a dental hygienist (yes, she’s made people feel comfortable in two types of chairs), Barbara found herself at a crossroads. Enter Eric, who gave her the opportunity to reinvent herself—and she ran with it. Today, she brings that same sense of purpose and passion to her role every single day.

What keeps her inspired? The people. From the stylists to the clients, Hairfolk is more than a salon—it’s a community. Watching clients relax, laugh, and truly feel at ease in the space is exactly the energy she loves to nurture (and it’s just the vibe Eric always dreamed of).

When she’s not keeping Hairfolk running like a well-oiled machine, she’s spending time with her husband of 41 years, their two daughters, and the growing crew of grandkids (with one more arriving in August 2025!). You’ll also find her working out, trying new restaurants around Birmingham, or enjoying a glass of wine, which has earned her the nickname, “Wine Snob”.

She may have traded dental tools for day-to-day operations, but trust us—she still knows how to make everyone feel like they’re in the best hands.
